Mrs. Chioma is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) with American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland (MD), Baltimore. She currently holds a position as an independent practitioner/disability/medical examiner with a nurse practitioner group in collaboration with Logistics Health Incorporated. She also moonlights as a Hospitalist at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, MD.
Mrs. Chioma’s journey in nursing began over 29 years ago, and she has established vast experiences in different areas of nursing. Her journey as a nurse started in 1987 at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska where she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Chioma gained her first clinical experience at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. She proceeded to obtain her Associate degree in nursing (ADN) from Prince George’s Community College in Largo, MD in 1993. She completed Bachelor of science in Nursing (BSN) in 1998 from Bowie State University in Bowie, MD. From this point on, she remained motivated in achieving her professional goal in nursing by acquiring a Master’s degree in acute care nursing (MSN-ACNP) in 2004. To further enhance her clinical skills & professional growth in nursing, she obtained several professional certifications namely: ACNP, Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), etc. She is currently licensed in MD, DC, and VA. She is an active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and a dedicated member of National Association of Nigerian Nurse Practitioner USA-DMV (NANNPU-DMV).
Mrs. Chioma does not shy away from challenges, but instead strives to succeed in every situation, and maintains a positive attitude towards growth. Her passion lies in areas of health promotion and disease prevention, and as a result, she takes time out of her busy schedule to volunteer in community service activities geared towards raising awareness for certain illnesses. She also aids and serves her church community.
Mrs. Chioma is blessed with four wonderful children, two girls and two boys. Mercy has earned a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland. Stanley is currently a medical student at St. George’s University, School of Medicine. Vivian is currently an MD/PhD student at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Kennedy is a sophomore undergraduate student attending the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Mrs. Chioma also has a beautiful granddaughter, Naomi, whom she dedicates quality time to raise.
